Our Commitment

We strive to ensure that our website complies with best practices and standards as defined by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone.

The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA and AAA). We've chosen Level AA as our target.

  • Text Alternatives: All images have appropriate alt text, and videos include captions when available.
  • Responsive Design: Our website adapts to different screen sizes and devices, ensuring accessibility across desktops, tablets, and mobile phones.
  • Color Contrast: Text and background colors have been selected to provide sufficient contrast for users with visual impairments.
  • Consistent Navigation: Navigation is consistent throughout the site to help users understand where they are.
  • Skip Navigation: A skip navigation link is available at the beginning of each page to help keyboard users bypass repeated content.
  • Form Labels: All form fields have associated labels to ensure they can be understood and used by everyone.
  • Customizable Display: Users can adjust text size, color schemes, and other display settings through our accessibility toolbar.

True Care NorCal offers various accessibility features to enhance your browsing experience. Here's how to use our accessibility toolbar and other features:

Accessibility Toolbar

Look for the accessibility icon on the left side of the screen. Clicking it opens a panel with various accessibility options:

  • Text Size: Increase or decrease the size of text on the page
  • Color Contrast: Switch to high contrast mode or adjust colors for various vision needs
  • Dark Mode: Switch between light and dark themes
  • Focus Indicators: Enhanced visual focus for keyboard navigation
  • Text Spacing: Adjust letter and line spacing for better readability
  • Font Type: Switch to a dyslexia-friendly font

Keyboard Navigation

Our website is fully navigable using a keyboard:

  • Tab: Move focus to the next interactive element
  • Shift+Tab: Move focus to the previous interactive element
  • Enter/Space: Activate the focused button, link, or control
  • Arrow Keys: Navigate within components like dropdown menus
  • Esc: Close dialogs or exit expanded components

Tip: Press Tab when first loading a page to reveal the "Skip to main content" link.

Conformance Status
